2025 Chevy Equinox Release Date & What’s New

Although the pickup truck class tends to be the best selling year after year, it’s actually the compact crossover segment that has become both the largest and most competitive throughout the automotive industry. Just about every automaker on the market has an entry into the segment, which means a company better put its best foot forward in order to be successful.

That’s certainly what Chevrolet has always done, and it knocks that out of the park once again this year with the introduction of the all-new, next-gen 2025 Chevy Equinox. With a fast-approaching release date in sight, we thought we’d dive into what’s new in the model to help you get just as excited as we are for the fourth-generation Equinox.

Before we dive into the highlights of what’s new for the 2025 model year, we thought we’d clear up the details on that release date we mentioned earlier. While exact dates are rarely ever given by any OEM, we know the 2025 Chevy Equinox will be available in the 2024 calendar year. Beyond that, we expect it to become available sometime in the middle of the year after it has had some time in production. The first aspect of what’s new in the fourth-generation Equinox that we’ll dive into is its design, as it is perhaps more appealing than ever. The newest iteration of the Equinox, which also happens to be its 20th anniversary, takes inspiration from larger vehicles on the Chevy lineup, such as the Traverse and Silverado, particularly where its bodylines and proportions are concerned. Check out the list below for additional enhancements coming to the vehicle’s design, both inside and out, for the 2025 model year:

• 2.3” wider stance
• Unique front fascia design cues for each trim
  • LT customers will be able to choose between two grille finishes: chrome or Midnight Edition High Gloss Black
• Square-shaped wheel openings, fender flares
• C-pillar shark fin
• All-LED lighting
• Aluminum wheel options from 17” to 20”
• 11.3” diagonal infotainment screen
• Electronic Precision Shift built into steering column; creating space beneath display audio screen
• Tactile materials and decorative trim used throughout
• Available Evotex seating on LT trim

Many brands across the industry have been introducing trim levels or even trim level families (sometimes called sub-brands) dedicated to the outdoor lifestyle. This often means off-road features and design cues as well as those that enhance the lives of weekend warriors like hikers, campers, kayakers and so on. Now, Equinox is getting its very first outdoor-focused trim level, and it’s called ACTIV. It will introduce a few unique design cues and off-road features, check them out:

• 17” machined-face aluminum wheels

• Maple Sugar and Black interior
• Premium Evotex and sueded microfiber seating

• Available two-tone finish via white roof
